Salah has enjoyed a remarkable first campaign at Liverpool having signed from Roma in pre-season, taking his tally to 43 for the season when he scored twice against his former club in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday.

Kjaer and Milan agree two-year extension

Simon Kjaer has penned a new two-year contract with Serie A leaders Milan.

The extension will keep him at the Rossoneri until June 2024 after his current deal was due to run out at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

The club announced Kjaer s new contract on Wednesday, hailing the 32-year-old as an exemplary professional on and off the pitch as they look forward to continuing their journey together .

Kjaer initially moved to San Siro on a six-month loan from Sevilla in January 2020 before making the move permanent in the close season.

He was a standout performer as his side undertook something of a transformation under Stefano Pioli during the previous term.

Sakho sidelined pending UEFA investigation

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will not play for the Merseyside club until a UEFA investigation into a failed drugs test has been concluded.

The decision, taken by the club in conjunction with the player, means the France international will not be considered for selection until the matter is resolved.

A Liverpool statement read: Yesterday, Friday 22nd April 2016, a formal communication was received from UEFA stating that they are investigating a possible anti-doping rule violation by Mamadou Sakho.
